81st General Convention, Friday the 28th
The 81st General Convention closed today in Louisville, Kentucky. According to President Ayala Harris of the House of Deputies, the Deputies had improved their proper pronunciation of the city as somewhere between Luhvul and Looavul. Please keep Bishop Lucinda and our Deputation in your prayers as they travel home.
Here are the other highlights of the last day of the General Convention.
Closing Eucharist: The final day of the 81st General Convention began with a Eucharist service. Presiding Bishop-Elect Sean Rowe preached, and Presiding Bishop Michael Curry presided. Click HERE to watch a video of the sermon and read a transcript.
Installation plans for presiding bishop-elect: Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop-elect Sean Rowe, together with the transition and installation planning committees, announced today that they will forego the traditional installation service in Washington National Cathedral in favor of a smaller, more straightforward ceremony in the chapel at the church’s New York headquarters.
