81st General Convention, Tuesday the 25th
Tuesday was a very consequential day for the convention. Not only did the House of Deputies elect their president for the next trienium, but a new diocese was formed in the legislative session.
The House of Deputies reelected Julia Ayala Harris as president Tuesday afternoon. Ayala Harris’ second term begins on June 28 at the close of convention. Click HERE to see the press conference following the election.

With the passage of Resolution C009, the formerly Navajoland Area Mission is now the Navajoland Missional Diocese. This change will give them the capability of electing their own bishop and appointing clergy. Bishop's Award Winner, Nancy Cohen was instrumental in helping to bring this resolution to the 81st General Convention.
The ECR Deacons also raised over $3500 to help send the Navajoland Deputation to the General Convention this year.
