A Pilgrimage with Race

Video interviews that use the power of story to share personal experiences
with life, family, and race.
Live loudly message painted on wall in Salinas, California

“A Storied Pilgrimage with Race” is a unique curriculum and approach to exploring issues of race in our diocese. It is a holy offering of video interviews, education materials, action items, and room for reflection. You are invited, and we hope feel compelled, to engage in the twelve stages of this curriculum. We encourage you to allow for space between the different stages so that the stories may speak to your own. This pilgrimage is intended mainly to be undertaken in a group setting, although individuals may engage in it as well. Completion of this pilgrimage fulfills the requirement for anti-racism training in the Diocese of El Camino Real. All are welcome.

Classes will gather once each month in 2023 over Zoom and journey through the curriculum together.  There are two sessions, a morning session (9:30 am to 11am) and an evening session (7 pm to 8:30 pm); you can indicate which session you’re signing up for when you register.

Sessions will be on: Jan. 25, Feb. 23, March 29, April 26, May 31, June 28, July 26, August 30, Sept. 27, Oct. 25, Nov. 15, and Dec. 6.

To register, please click HERE.

The Canon to the Ordinary, Canon Martha Korienek, will be leading the sessions.  If you have any questions, you can email her at canonmartha@realepiscopal.org
