Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves will facilitate a retreat in April for those seeking a faith based, safe community in which to process deep loss and the long-term work of recovery. “This Bewildering, Easter Way–A Retreat on Grief and Recovery” will take place April 21-23 at the Mount Hermon Camp and Conference Center in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Whether the loss is recent or years ago, gathering together for insight, prayer and the support of community can help us move forward into the new life that is promised in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Events of insufferable grief such as the death of a beloved spouse, child, parent or friend can forever change us. While we know immediately at the point of loss that grief is inexplicably hard, it can come as a surprise to discover that living into new life can be just as challenging.  The Christian faith and community offers us a place to be ourselves and to be supported as together we walk the Easter Way.

The retreat will begin with check-in Friday afternoon (4:30 pm) April 21 and end Sunday afternoon, April 23. Retreat costs include all meals and snacks, starting with dinner on Friday night and ending with lunch on Sunday. The Mount Hermon Center is located at 37 Conference Drive in Felton.

Cost is $297 for double occupancy and online registration is available here. Retreat costs include all meals and snacks starting with dinner on Friday night and ending with lunch on Sunday.
