This summer Camp St. Andrew’s completed its 37th successful year with 97 campers (52 of which received camperships to attend), 31 high school and college age counselors, four unit directors and 15 program staff of all ages. This merry group ventured up to Pinecrest for one week of entertaining activities. Days were filled with arts and crafts, sports, hiking, fishing, swimming, archery, chapel, campfires and more.

The chapel theme was “WOW” – recognizing the amazing moments that God provides. Additionally, campers and staff chose to hone their spiritual development by accepting new challenges to be better people and grow in service to others. At the beginning of the week, the counselors were asked to share what their ideal “WOW” moment of the week would be. Not surprisingly, many of the counselors chose to make a positive impact in their campers’ lives, making them want to return to Camp St. Andrews.

The counselors were able to make that happen. Following the camp, a mother wrote that her two sons continue to say how much fun they had, how great their counselors were, and how they are ready to go back as soon as possible. In 2015, Camp St. Andrew’s will take place on August 2-8. Campers range in age from 3rd grade (8 years old) to 10th grade (15 years old). Financial support is appreciated so the team can continue to provide a fun camp experience to youth who would not otherwise be able to attend.
